Adolf Hiremy Hirschl is a Hungarian artist, born in 1860, dying in Italy in 1933. Hirschl's Fantasy Paintings and mythology art are now becoming increasingly well known.  Paintings by Hirschl have a dedicated following of admirers.  Some of his oil paintings, such as Souls on the Banks of the Acheron, fall within the Symbolism Art Movement. This large oil on canvas painting is 216 x 340cm and is part of the Belvedere Palace Museum, Vienna, collection.

Adolf Hiremy Hirschl studied at The Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna in 1878.  Hirschl won the 1st prize for his oil on canvas painting Farewell: Scene from Hannibal Cross the Alps. The following year the artist achieved an ambition to visit Rome. Italy inspired many of Hirschl's historical mythology paintings. Adolf Hiremy continued painting in Rome for 35 years, gaining respect for much of his unique and very individual art. 

Known as the artist Adolf Hiremy Hirschl, his fantasy paintings continue to attract praise from many quarters.
